This book does not seek to criticize the church. The church has long been a cornerstone of strength, particularly within the Black community. It has been a place of refuge, advocacy, worship, and hope.
Rather than focusing on shortcomings, this work seeks to shine a light on an issue that has often gone unaddressed within many congregations—mental health. The intention is not to assign blame, but to encourage growth. The church has always evolved in response to the needs of its people, and mental health is one of the most pressing needs of our time.
